Well written & your love really shines through. Thank you for sharing your thoughts – you & Dawn are a true inspiration. Kevin was very blessed to have a mom & dad & big sister that loved him so completely.

All the love that was showered on Kevin was reflected in his big smile & care-free ways. It was so easy to love him with my whole heart – he was a very precious little boy & I will always treasure our memories & all the good times we had with him.

I’ll always remember how he fell asleep here so often to the intro of the ‘Bob the Builder’ movie; he never wanted to get into the movie, all he wanted was the intro. He would try to sing the theme song – all he knew was “Bob”, but he sang it so well!

Her love for Kevin starting before he was born has always amazed me. I remember the kitchen timer going off and all of the appointments and tests. Dawn’s knowledge of Kevin’s heart problems always impressed me. She sounds like a heart doctor when she describes Kevin’s heart.

I have an image of Dawn on Sunday, the last night I spent with Kevin, and she was holding him and patting his hair and I thought to myself–wow, what a great mommy. Or as Kevin would say, moooooooooooomy!

I think sometimes Moms are hard on themselves, but Dawn, you should feel nothing but pride in your mothering of Kevin. You took such good care of him.

Then I looked down at the coffee cup Grandpa was drinking from…..and would you believe there was a coffee cup with cows!!things Kevin loved and we sat there with the tears flowing. We got permission to bring the cup home with us

Kevin could not possibly have had better parents anywhere in the whole wide world than you two; I am proud to be the mother of a daughter who raised such a wonderful daughter as Dawn. (who had the good fortune to find someone like Matt!!)

You have put into words what those of us who know and love Dawn feel every day. I know I am the older sister, but she is truly the one I look up to most in my life. She is the mom I strive to be like everyday. I am very thankful that she has a husband that appreciates everything that she is and everything she does. You have both been an inspiration to me! Thank you for the stories. I talked to Dawn everyday, and was always hanging around, but never truly understood what she went through. You are right, she didn’t complain and kept a lot inside to spare the rest of us the pain and worry. We did enjoy every moment of Kevin’s life and are very grateful for that time. We will continue to remember him with you as well.
